Lubbock PD, DPS, and even Lubbock Fire Rescue apparently had some free time on their hands, so they teamed up for a day-long prostitution sting. From 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., they staked out the 2500 block of 27th Street with boots on the ground and, naturally, eyes in the sky courtesy of the department’s drone unit. Yes, taxpayer-funded drones—finally being used to bust the world’s least discreet johns.

By the end of the day, nine people were arrested on charges ranging from soliciting prostitution to narcotics. The lineup included Christopher Jones, Matthew Tanner, Ruben Ramirez, Kymberlee Simpson, Peter Daley, Jacob Mendez, Holden Wright, Mia Garcia-Vidaurre, and Wendaeza Phenix. Not exactly the Ocean’s Eleven crew—more like Lubbock’s Awkward Nine.

Nothing like a sting to prove that if you’re up to no good in Lubbock, there’s a solid chance a drone is filming your walk of shame.

Who knew the “eye in the sky” wasn’t for tornadoes, but for catching you texting your “masseuse”?
