Nothing good ever happens at 5 a.m. in Lubbock—especially not in a convenience store parking lot. Police say a woman working outside a 34th Street gas station was shot three times in the legs after refusing a stranger’s request to use the restroom. Because apparently, “Sorry, restroom’s for customers only” is now fighting words.

According to LPD, the would-be restroom user was accompanied by a male driver, and after being denied access, the two got into a verbal argument with employee Roxanna Orozco. As Orozco tried to walk back inside, the man shot her in both legs and took off—because nothing says “reasonable response” like attempted murder over a bathroom key.

She was taken to UMC with non-life-threatening injuries, and police are still looking for the suspects. No arrests, no leads—just another day in the city that can’t decide if it’s small-town friendly or frontier-law feral.

Maybe the “restroom for customers only” sign should just say “enter at your own risk.”
