A former Lubbock Police Department Special Investigator is behind bars following a demand-reduction operation in South Lubbock.
The Lubbock Police Department Vice Unit arrested Eric Harris on April 14th, 2025 following an undercover operation. The LPD Vice Unit began conducting operations on April 13th. On April 14th, 68-year-old Harris made contact with an undercover officer and made arrangements to meet at a local hotel.
Harris was placed under arrest just before 12:30 p.m. and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center. He is charged with Solicitation of Prostitution, a State Jail Felony. Harris retired from the LPD as a Detective in August of 2020 before being re-hired in January 2023 as a civilian Special Investigator.
The investigation is ongoing.
