Hereford Police say Dr. Michael J. Ellis, DC, has been indicted for Invasive Visual Recording after a female patient accused him of inappropriate behavior. The Castro County DA’s Office presented the case to a grand jury, which returned the indictment on August 13. By August 18, police tracked Ellis down at his chiropractic office on W. Park Avenue and hauled him off to jail.
The case got bumped from Deaf Smith County to Castro County after officials admitted there might be a “conflict of interest” if they kept it local. HPD says the investigation is ongoing and is urging any other patients who think Ellis may have pulled the same stunt to come forward.
A chiropractor recording patients without their knowledge? Looks like his license to crack backs might soon be revoked permanently.
