Malachi Perez, 26 was arrested on Thursday and charged with Sexual Assault and Aggravated Assault Family/Household Member causing Serious Bodily Injury, according to court documents.
On September 4, Lubbock Police were called out in reference to a sexual assault, according to official court records obtained by EverythingLubbock.com
The records revealed the victim stated that Perez attempted to push her head below the water while she was in the bathtub
The victim reported she believed Perez was trying to drown her, court records said.
Official documents stated Perez then took the victim into her bedroom and sexually assaulted her.
Officers at the scene reported Perez confessed the sexual act was nonconsensual, according to court records.
Perez was taken into custody and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center.
As of Monday, Perez remained in the Lubbock County Detention Center with a total bond set at $80,000.
