Meet Javier Medrano, 24, who decided to make 2025 his personal crime tour. Back in February, he allegedly assaulted a woman he knew, dragging her back into a house after she tried to escape. By August, he was apparently on an encore streak—kicking down doors, fighting cops, and even trying to convince a woman and her kid to hop in his car. Unsurprisingly, they declined.
On August 6, police chased Medrano through backyards until he was found hiding in a shed, THC vape in hand. Less than two weeks later, he leveled up his rap sheet by allegedly assaulting another woman at a bar, stealing her phone, and then leading DPS on a high-speed chase topping 100 mph. He managed to escape that night, but warrants caught up with him fast.
Medrano now sits in the Lubbock County Detention Center on bonds totaling more than $236,000, facing charges ranging from kidnapping and burglary to multiple counts of evading arrest. Oh, and this isn’t even his first rodeo—back in 2021, he was part of a manhunt that locked down Lubbock Christian University.
Twelve charges, three separate incidents, one guy. At this point, is Medrano trying to speedrun the entire Texas penal code?
