John Jimenez Jr., 26, was arrested on charges of robbery, interfering with emergency assistance, failure to identify or giving false information, possession, and violating a restraining order after an incident that occurred on Saturday evening.

In an affidavit obtained by EverythingLubbock.com on Tuesday, Lubbock police received a call on Saturday evening in reference to a robbery occurring at Flying J, located at 602 Marsha Sharp Freeway.

The victim advised officers she was in a verbal argument with Jimenez over her wanting to go to the bathroom with her cellphone. Jimenez then exited the vehicle and proceeded to chase the victim inside the store and got into a physical altercation with her. While she was attempting to call 911, Jimenez then shoved the victim to the ground, pried her phone from her hands and ran back to her vehicle and fled northbound.

The victim informed officers that Jimenez lived in the area and frequently parked in the alley. Officers arrived at his residence and found the vehicle as the victim had indicated. Jimenez provided a false name to the officers, but they were able to locate a wallet with his real name and subsequently arrested him.

Lubbock Police searched him and found a small bag of what records described as “a green leafy substance” inside his pocket that field tested positive for marijuana and found the victim’s cellphone as well.

Upon checking his name, officers discovered that Jimenez had an active protective order against the victim, issued on August 10, 2025, prohibiting him from being within 70 yards of her.

Jimenez was taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center with a bond totaling $95,000.
