Terrance Brown, 34, decided to take “toxic relationship” to a new level this week by breaking into a woman’s home with a revolver, threatening to shoot her and others, and forcing her into his car. Because nothing says “romantic gesture” like felony kidnapping.
According to court records, Brown drove the victim only a short distance before she bolted from the car and sprinted back toward her home. He tried to chase her down, but apparently cardio isn’t his strong suit. Witnesses confirmed he had barged into the home armed, and police later found his blue Kia parked with a matching revolver inside.
When police tracked him down, Brown went for the classic “I never left my house” defense — always a bold strategy when eyewitnesses and photographic evidence disagree. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t work, and now he’s cooling his heels in the Lubbock County Detention Center on an aggravated kidnapping charge.
Pro tip: if your alibi is “I wasn’t there,” maybe don’t leave your getaway Kia and your gun as Exhibit A in the driveway.
