Meet Corbin Pemberton, a 59-year-old former massage therapist and the latest contestant to grace the Lubbock County Detention Center booking photo lineup. Pemberton was recently arrested on charges of Indecent Assault following an incident that proves, once again, why you probably shouldn’t source your medical recovery professionals from a casual scroll through social media.
According to court documents, a local woman needed some post-procedure lymph node and abdominal therapy back in April 2025 and found Pemberton’s parlor via online recommendations. Things went south—literally—when Pemberton allegedly slid his hand underneath her underwear during a session. Just to ensure she wasn’t misinterpreting the “healing power of touch,” the victim checked with an actual medical doctor, who confirmed that, no, getting fondled is not standard post-op care.
But let’s talk about the blistering, lightning-fast speed of Hub City justice. The incident happened in April 2025. The warrant was issued in May 2026. It took over a year for the authorities to track him down to the 3500 block of North Holly Avenue. In a hilarious twist of bureaucratic efficiency, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation actually beat the police to the punch, shutting down Pemberton’s multi-massage operation, revoking his license, and handing him a lifetime ban four months before he was even put in handcuffs.
Once the cops finally got their man, a judge set his bond at a whopping, bank-breaking $3,000. Because nothing says “we take crimes against women seriously” like a bail amount that costs less than a decent used riding lawnmower. Naturally, Pemberton posted bail and is already back on the streets.
But hey, at least we can all sleep soundly knowing that a lifetime ban from the TDLR will definitely stop an accused predator from operating in a town famous for its unregulated, off-the-books backyard businesses, right?
