In a plot twist no one saw coming—except literally everyone—39-year-old nurse practitioner Matthew Price was pulled over in Lubbock County and found cruising around with a blank prescription pad and a duffle bag full of pills. According to the sheriff’s deputy, Price claimed this was all perfectly fine because his employer supposedly said he could take a prescription pad home like it was a souvenir from the gift shop.

Unfortunately for Price, his boss quickly clarified: Absolutely not, what is this man talking about? That left Price with a handful of problems, including four drug possession charges and one count of possessing a fraudulent script. Not exactly the kind of “urgent care” Covenant probably had in mind.

And here’s the kicker: Price isn’t some random guy scribbling fake scripts in a parking lot. He’s a family nurse practitioner with active affiliations at Covenant Medical Center and Covenant Urgent Care. You know—those places where most people try to get away from medical fraud, not toward it.

So… is this the part where Covenant updates its job listings to specify “Must not run a mobile Walgreens out of your trunk”?
