Welcome back to big-time college football, where the price of school spirit rivals a month’s mortgage. For Texas Tech fans hoping to see the No. 9 Red Raiders take on No. 8 BYU, SeatGeek is asking for anywhere between $467 and a soul—up to $2,584—for a ticket. Even the nosebleed section will set you back about $835, which is ironic, since you’ll be so high up you might actually get a nosebleed.

It’s the first time since 2008 that ESPN’s College Gameday has decided to grace Lubbock with its presence, so naturally, the town has lost its collective mind. Scalpers are practically achieving tenure at Texas Tech for their contributions to the local economy, and everyone’s acting like this is the second coming of Mike Leach.

But hey, it’s all worth it to watch a bunch of college kids bash helmets for three hours—while you pray your car doesn’t get introduced to Lubbock hospitality in the parking lot. At least ESPN might get a nice shot of the tortilla confetti before the stadium erupts in heatstroke and debt.

Who knew “Wreck ’Em Tech” would apply more to your bank account than the opponent?
