Thunder Sun Inc. has now filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy twice, after the first one got tossed because they somehow forgot a tiny little detail—like proof of insurance for multiple properties. Federal officials say the second filing isn’t looking much better, since Thunder Sun allegedly still hasn’t managed to insure most of the 48 properties they own. But don’t worry, they sent some documents. So… A for effort?
Meanwhile, the company’s Lubbock mobile home park continues its transformation into a scene from one of those sad documentaries where a city block is held together with duct tape and spiritual hope. We’ve got recurring water shut-offs, ongoing sewage leaks, and apparently the dumpster got repossessed. When the trash hauler drives off like “sorry, no money, no garbage,” things are going great.
The landlord’s defense is basically: “Relax, we’ve insured most of the buildings now and turned the water back on… again.” Repairs have allegedly been happening since December 1, under the supervision of someone named Tiffany, blue city flags, and vague mentions of PVC replacement. Also, code enforcement says the water can stay on while they clean up the sewage. Comforting!
Thunder Sun says everything’s under control. City says sewage is literally surfacing. And tenants are probably Googling “how long can a human survive without reliable plumbing?”
But hey—why fix your properties when you can just file bankruptcy a second time and hope nobody notices the smell?
