In breaking news that shocked absolutely no one, former President Donald Trump has once again endorsed U.S. Rep. Jodey Arrington — the man who’s made a career out of saying “Yes, Mr. President” with the enthusiasm of a golden retriever. Trump’s statement, posted late Sunday night, called Arrington an “incredible” leader who “knows the America First Policies” required to make everything great again — jobs, borders, golden ages, you name it. Basically, he hit every caps-locked buzzword from 2016.
Arrington, never one to miss a chance to shine Trump’s shoes in public, responded by calling him “the most courageous and committed leader” he’s ever known. Which is quite a statement, considering Arrington once worked for George W. Bush — the man who started two wars and still came off more chill than Trump on Truth Social.
Of course, this is all theater. Arrington’s seat in Texas’ 19th Congressional District — which covers Lubbock, Abilene, and other spots where Democrats are rarer than public transportation — isn’t exactly in danger. He’s routinely pulled in 75–80% of the vote, proving that West Texas would vote for a cactus as long as it promised to “Defend the Second Amendment.”
At this point, Trump’s endorsement is less of a surprise and more of a loyalty badge. Maybe next time he’ll just hand out embroidered MAGA merit patches.
