Because nothing says “healthy co-parenting” like a cocked pistol on University Avenue, 25-year-old Kaitlin Garcia has officially been indicted for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Apparently, a December child exchange in the 7300 block turned into a deleted scene from Sicario, proving once again that in Lubbock, “family time” is just another word for “aggravated felony.”
According to the cops, a fight broke out between the victim and another individual during the hand-off. When a firearm was drawn, Garcia didn’t call for peace or, you know, a therapist. Instead, she allegedly snatched the gun, pointed it at the victim, and screamed, “I will shoot you!” Just to make sure the holiday spirit was fully felt, she reportedly cocked the weapon and reiterated the threat while the two continued to scrap.
Garcia has since bonded out of the Lubbock County Detention Center, because why stay behind bars when there are more driveway disputes to mediate with ballistics? It’s truly heartwarming to see the youth of Hub City taking such an active, high-caliber interest in dispute resolution.
Is it even a Lubbock custody swap if someone doesn’t end up looking at the business end of a semi-automatic?
