Lubbock got its own little Narcos episode when SWAT stormed a stash house on 36th Street, hauling in three people tied to a drug trafficking operation. Agents found over 300 grams of meth, nearly a kilo of liquid meth, $10,000 in cash, and — because it’s Lubbock — a stolen handgun tossed into the mix.

Two of the suspects, Roman and Edgar Sandoval, apparently thought they could outsmart SWAT by soaking themselves in toilet water while flushing meth. Spoiler: it didn’t work. The third, Rosario Vale, was scooped up outside before things got messy inside.

All three told police they were from Sinaloa, Mexico — as in, that Sinaloa, home to one of the biggest cartels on the planet. Vale had only been in the U.S. two days before finding herself behind bars with a $525,000 bond, while the Sandovals are sitting on $600,000 each.

From cartel dreams to clogged Lubbock plumbing — guess the Sinaloa chapter of 36th Street didn’t last long.
