Congratulations, Lubbock! Not only are we dangerous, we’re also boring. According to a ranking no one asked for, Lubbock managed to snag the title of the most boring city in Texas and the entire U.S. Impressive, really — takes talent to bore people this hard.
The numbers say it all: bottom of the barrel for dining (unless you think a third Raising Cane’s is “culinary diversity”), arts ranked 73rd, and music venues 83rd. Basically, Buddy Holly died for our sins and the city never recovered.
The only thing keeping us from total cultural oblivion? Nightlife came in at a mediocre 58th. Translation: there’s just enough bars serving cheap wells to keep Texas Tech students from realizing they live in a cultural desert.
So, Lubbock — most dangerous and most boring. Guess that means your odds are either getting mugged… or just falling asleep waiting for something interesting to happen.
