Texas GOP Achieves Ultimate ‘Unity’ By Telling Muslim Conservatives to Get Out of the Country

The 2026 Texas State Republican Convention just wrapped up in Houston under the inspiring, totally-not-ironic banner of “Unity drives victory.” And nothing says “unity” quite like bringing a literal circus elephant into the convention hall while party leaders frantically try to purge lifelong conservative delegates for the crime of practicing Islam. Mohamed Hussein, a fiscally conservative health care manager who actually believed the party’s rhetoric about religious freedom, showed up to find his place in the tent. Instead, he left in tears after the state’s finest political minds explicitly told him to convert to Christianity or pack his bags and leave America.

Enter the intellectual heavyweights of the “Judeo-Christian Caucus,” led by former Baptist pastor Rick Scarborough and State Rep. Brent Money—who proudly sports a red “Defend Texas, Defeat Sharia” hat. During a panel charmingly titled “Don’t Sharia My Texas,” the convention’s vibe quickly shifted from mainstream politics to an aggressive neighborhood watch meeting. The highlights of the state party’s platform apparently include:

  • The Head-Chopping Prophecy: Scarborough guaranteeing the audience that your polite Muslim neighbors are secretly plotting to decapitate Christians the second they get political power.
  • The Mandatory Liars Club: State Sen. Bob Hall claiming Muslims are religiously required to lie to stay below the radar.
  • The Holy Job Description: Representative Money suggesting America would be best ruled exclusively by Christian men.

When Hussein stood up from the back of the room to point out that Sharia just means things like fasting, daily prayer, and charity, Scarborough dropped the ultimate pastoral bomb: he told Hussein there is simply no place in America for him.

But don’t worry, the Texas-sized hypocrisy gets even better. After successfully breaking Hussein down into public, sobbing tears, Scarborough’s “pastoral side” supposedly kicked in. The minister sat down next to the weeping man, threw an arm around him, and offered to pray for his conversion to Christianity. Truly, nothing embodies neighborly love quite like bullying a guy into a mental breakdown and then asking God to fix him for being the wrong religion. Meanwhile, outgoing GOP chair Abraham George openly told other Muslim delegates—who happen to oppose abortion, pornography, and gambling—to take a hike and join the Democrats.

With the state GOP actively telling socially conservative, family-values voters to go join the opposition because they pray differently, you really have to admire the sheer strategic genius at play here. How long until the Lubbock county branch starts checking baptism certificates and family trees at the door just to ensure our local political tent stays perfectly, flawlessly empty?
